We were preparing for Sam’s 4th birthday. We bought him his first bike.

Jen was job hunting

I was still ascending the ladder

We were renovating our new 19th century brownstone.

We weren’t at war

Many were blissfully and arrogantly complacent.

Now: Castleton-on-Hudson

We are preparing for Sam’s 27th birthday. He bought his own car.

Ben is in college

Jen is selling homes

I am building homes

We are renovating a 19th century farmhouse (again)

We are at war with ourselves

Many are still arrogantly, but maybe not so blissfully, complacent.
