Big news this week: a new home later this year!
****************
This is a really exciting update for us to share.
In the interest of not burying the lede: We're moving to a newer and better location later this year!
Columbia-Greene Habitat has acquired property at 3521 US-9 in Hudson that will serve as our organization’s headquarters and the new home of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. In addition, we are excited to announce the next phase of our expansion plans: The Habitat for Humanity Construction Workshop, an all-weather construction facility that will significantly expand our capacity to build quality starter homes.
We expect to break ground on the new construction facility this Spring. The ReStore will be opening up in its new home in Fall 2025; just minutes from where it is now. The ReStore will continue to operate, business as usual at the current location (829 Route 66 Hudson, NY 12534) until the new location is ready.
“We are very excited to finally take this leap forward,’ said Al Bellenchia, Chief Executive of CGHFH. “We have committed to building more homes more often and our modern and more energy efficient new location will allow us to achieve this pledge. The housing crisis in our community is a problem that needs to be addressed a number of different ways, and a key part of the solution needs to be the construction of starter homes that the average family can afford to own.”
The expansion of our operations was made possible by funding secured by Assemblymember Didi Barrett. “I am delighted to have helped provide the funding for this exciting new home for Columbia-Greene Habitat for Humanity, its ReStore and the new Construction Workshop. Creating pathways to affordable homeownership is one of my highest priorities,” said Assemblymember Didi Barrett. “And Habitat for Humanity has been a tremendous partner to work with on many fronts.”
For the last few years the The Columbia-Greene Habitat team has been been working hard to expand our capacity to help people in our community. The ReStore is busier and better than ever. Our construction team is building more homes in more places, our Helping Hands Program has completed dozens of essential repairs and small projects.
This new facility will allow us to keep growing and doing even more to help build our community. More news to come on this as we get closer to the opening of the new ReStore, workshop and offices.

This is great news, Al!
Well done yet again, Mr. B!
