She, me, we
The bestie celebrates another completed orbit this weekend. The holiday weekend forecast for the Hudson Valley is cooler, and damp, which will give her optimal weather for weeding and mulching.
To each our own compulsions, I suppose.
Next weekend marks our 34th anniversary. We hit 39 as a couple in late June.
Then it’s the big 6/7 for me. Damn.
We move on. Love endures. Celebrations continue, because they must, to help us endure the times that are more vexing.
Celebrate all there is to be cherished. As Buddha said: “Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
Be back in June.
Stay happy.
“She was the most beautiful thing that I had ever seen
And it took only her laugh to realize
that beauty was the least of her”. - Atticus
“She was beautiful, but not like those girls in magazines. She was beautiful, for the way she thought. She was beautiful, for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved.
She was beautiful, for her ability to make other people smile, even if she was sad. No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down to her soul.” - F Scott Fitzgerald
