Why do companies and organizations think that a bot chat can solve your problems or issues? Give me a human being, please! I had to spend 20 minutes recently answering questions to a bot on the phone before it recognized that it couldn’t help me—something I knew from the start but there was no option to “speak to a representative.” The same questions took less than 5 minutes when I finally got to a real person. And then there was all the on hold time. I even had to wait on hold for the bot!
Are there any neurological studies being done to track the changes in our brain response systems from maybe the 1950's forward? Are we causing "climate change" in our system that is fueled by decreasing personal interactions with required flexibility, compassion and critical thinking? Will that synapse set roll off once the quicker emotional, reactive survival flow chart of interactions is the only path we tread? Ok, I'm going outside to listen to the birds now, phone away!
