Perfectly said and I am sorry you were treated so rudely. As you might guess, I am polite when out and about and try to add levity to any situation. But I find that people are somewhat surprised to get a smile ,a laugh or a sign of appreciation. It’s such a tough world now. I feel that Reality TV with all of its rude behavior on display has set a tone…and one of its stars becoming President just put the icing on the cake. Rude behavior is now not only ok but valued! Ugh.
