Perhaps this is too on the nose for me

We know are in the time when the only cliché : "what did you do during the demise of democracy"

is a think.. and too many people did nothing and way more people wanted to be part of the demise

when the world

goes mad

 become wildly kind

to everyone

everyone

everyone

everyone

 my love,

~ you can’t control

much

but you control how

you treat others

in these breaking news

heartbreaking times

when nothing feels

certain

 let your raw kindness

be a certainty

 allow your compassion

to become a North Star

stamped up in

the sky for

 others to follow

back home

Thank you so much for sharing that poem, and introducing me to John Roedel.

Yes! We will rise. Our principles and values are still worth fighting for. Thank you, Al. (I'll return later to listen to your music; my MotD is itching to be written.)

ETA: As soon as I heard the first notes of this song, it all came flooding back. I adored it back in the day. Diana Ross does not get the attention and respect she deserves. (If memory serves, you said something similar on my MotD featuring her.)

Diana was as hot as anyone in music, during her heyday. Funny how fast fame can fade.

I don't know if that is true... exactly

I really believe ALL of motown, has found a place in our soul (pun not intended.. but should be there)

Forgot: Hello kleptocracy.

I wept when I watched Kamala's "concession" speech. I hope to rise again, but right now, it hurts.

Yes, it does. It hurts. And the pain will be worse for a while.

Goodbye truth. Goodbye conscience. Goodbye education. Goodbye morality. Goodbye reality.

I want to stay in bed with the covers pulled over my head for the next four years. It's the way I've always dealt with nightmares.

Remember - as bad as it feels right now (and likely will) we all have comforting places to connect with others - Letters from an American, Civil Discourse, The Front Page and right here!

AND most of us will feel exactly the same way you do! Thats a good feeling - no matter what any disbelievers think.
